Project Review
- The Challenge
Our Client was expanding their recycling facility requiring groundworks for a new 70mx14m steel framed building.
- Our Approach
Despite environmental and planning difficulties delaying the construction phase, and ultimately shortening the programme, we consulted effectively with the Client and worked diligently once on-site to still deliver our packages within their deadline, whilst their facility remained fully operational.
We again worked collaboratively, successfully mitigated the need for exhaustive break-out and cart-away of the existing hardstanding, which the Client had expected and budgeted to be the case.
- Project Delivery
Our works consisted of
- Pre-construction budgeting, value engineering and consulting on design/scope adaptions during a changing environment
- Assisting the client with structural details and solutions to various planning/environmental challenges being faced
- Undertaking of ground bearing tests to establish foundation design
- Sawcut and breakout of localised hardstanding and installation of 30 nr. RC pad foundations
- Installation of dished channel kerbs diverting plastic waste/surface water back into existing water treatment plant
- Installation of new 1500dia PCC sump manhole
- Adaption of various existing drainage systems and raising of ironworks to existing SW manhole to be formed into new concrete slab
- Sub-base, regulating and preparation for new concrete slabs
